This class is an introduction to hand weaving where children will learn basic weaving techniques and get an overview of the different types of materials used in weaving. In addition children learn about the many things — both practical and beautiful — made through weaving and the various countries where weaving is practiced. Each child will make four pot-holders, a bag, a pillow case cover, a scarf and wall tapestry. Loom used: Table, Lap looms and Floor looms

Building upon the basic skills learned in Beginning Weaving, children will be guided in more advanced techniques on the table loom and will move into working on the floor looms to create more intricate woven designs. The beginning of the course focuses upon traditional weaving methods and end of the course encourages children to express their own creativity by weaving their own designs. Loom used: Table and Floor Looms.
8 Week Course $295 (not including materials; cost of materials depend upon the yarns the children choose to work with)

GENERAL INFORMATION: Sessions run Mon - Fri, 10am-4pm. For an additional charge of $15 we offer supervised playtime, before and after classes, available between 9-10am and 4-5pm to accommodate your family’s schedule. Maximum of 6 children per class. All classes include a trip to a related museum or gallery. Please bring lunch. Outdoor playtime will be held each day after lunch.
This class is an introduction to weaving. You will learn how to wind the yarn around the warping board, dress the loom, weave basic plain/twill structures. Loom Used: Floor Loom

This class is designed with the new and expectant mothers in mind. Come and learn the basic techniques of weaving, while also meeting new mothers and mothers to be. Women can celebrate the age old art of communal gathering to create something made with their hands and to share birth stories and parenting advice. (Babies under 1 year of age welcome). The weaving aspect of the class is an introduction to hand weaving where women will learn basic weaving techniques and get an overview of of the different types of materials used in weaving. In addition they will learn about the many things — both practical and beautiful — made through weaving and the various countries where weaving is practiced. Loom used: Floor Looms.
