Textile Arts Center of New York

During the coming weeks, Weaving Hand will become the Textile Arts Center of NY!

In order to serve as an textile arts education center, we will be expanding our curriculum and getting involved with community projects. Beginning this summer we will offer new workshops and classes to include topics such as embroidery, felting, and sewing. In addition, special events and meetings will be held to offer new creative outlets and fun for adults and children.

As always, we appreciate any feedback and suggestions. Particularly in this time of expansion, we would love to hear the voice of those we serve.

We are very excited about the changes and growth that the organization is going through and hope that you will grow with us!

Please look for our new website to debut in the beginning of July. Thank you!

Mission

Weaving Hand is a weaving and fiber art studio that celebrate the international & communal art of weaving through classes and special events for both children and adults.

Philosophy

Weaving Hand celebrates our ability to work with our hands to create something of beauty and integrity; something that springs from traditions throughout the world; something that can last for generations. We want to appreciate the creativity in everyone through the age-old art of weaving. We focus upon weaving styles from countries such as Nepal, Guatemala, Bolivia, Philippines, Japan, Laos, Morocco, Tibet, and others. In addition, the Weaving Hand operates as a store that sells hand-made crafts that are imported under the standards of Fair Trade Organization.
