Ikat Weaving with Indigo Dyeing
2 Session Class

280.00

Our Ikat Weaving Class is a 2 session course that meets the 2 Saturdays of each month, from 12pm to 4pm.

Indigo, historically extracted from plants, is among the oldest dyes to be used for textiles and is known for embodying a rich and distinctive blue color. During this course, we will experiment with various shades of Indigo, and combine its beauty through Ikat, a resist technique where warp and/or weft threads are bound and dyed prior to weaving on a loom. Each student will create a weaving comprised of both the indigo and Ikat processes.
